I finished all the piecing on the quilt I wasn’t going to do!! It’s far from perfect, but it’s done!
My QFFS were going to surprise me with a wonderful weekend of sewing and visiting. They called to let me know their plans, but then the weather decided to throw a monkey wrench into the works.
They had to cancel their surprise visit. But I decided that, since we would have been sewing all weekend, I would just do that on my own.
I warned DH that he should not expect much housework or cooking getting done because I really wanted to finish. I did put a big pot of soup in the slow cooker so we wouldn’t starve and got to work.
Of course, things don’t always go as planned and this sewing marathon was no exception. I had a few interruptions by my loving family. And DH needed my assistance with a few things. And all the piecing took much longer than I planned for, which is why I only finished today instead on the weekend!!
But it’s finished!!!
I really enjoyed this mystery. I basically did everything according to Bonnie’s direction. The only deviation was using solid golden yellow pieces instead of the string pieced orange units. And Bonnie did say we could use solid pieces as a “cop out” option. 😉
Since I haven’t chosen a flimsy to quilt (per my Get It Done goals for January) I may just load this onto the Fun Quilter and have it all ready to be snuggled under while it is still snowy and cold outside.
