I told you last week that I was really looking forward to the weekend because I intended to sew, sew, sew.
Well, that’s exactly what I did!
My very dear QFFs, Bev and Barb, came down to sew with me and, boy, did we go to town!!
Barb really outdid herself, putting together an applique quilt for her guild challenge:
She also completed two tops for quilts that will be donated to Hospice:
Bev continued work on her giant pink and brown checkerboard (look closely – is there an odd square in there!?!):
She also started making her challenge quilt, which was based on triangles. She took inspiration from a vintage block that her DH purchased for her at an auction (inspiration on right, her version on left):
And I stepped wildly out of my comfort zone and had a blast doing it!! I started with a big piece of yardage (Moda – Watercolor – Lagoon) and a jelly roll (Moda – Grunge), added a few bits of some fabric from the stash (have no clue what manufacturer or line) and just started cutting and sewing:
I am loving it!! There are no rules, no point matching, no measuring! It’s so much fun! It’s all modern and improv. I cannot wait until this is a finished quilt and it can be used and loved. I’m making it queen size and I have about half done already. In just one weekend!! Woo-hoo!!
Time to get some work done, so I can get back to sewing as quickly as possible!!
