No, I’m not preparing for a nuclear holocaust. Well, that’s not entirely true. I would suppose that quilts would come in handy after a nuclear event! So, yes, I could be preparing for that.
But, in all actuality, I’m just preparing for the next quilt that I need/want to get started.
Yesterday my knee decided to act up so I couldn’t do very much. Keeping it elevated and iced made it difficult to sit down and sew! But I did manage to wash and press some fabric for the Hospice quilt that my group will be working on this year.
If you remember, I’ve decided on this block:
And here are the fabrics that we will be using:
I got the excess dye washed out of all the reds and the green. Then pressed them in preparation for cutting. I’m really looking forward to starting this quilt!!
I was supposed to join some of the ladies in my group to work on another donation quilt for the Festival of Trees, which benefits the local women’s shelter. But with my knee still kind of touchy, I thought it would be better to stay home and not take the chance of having it pop on me again. Which is a bummer, since I would have liked to visit with my friends and play with fabric.
I guess I’ll have to play by myself today!
