Thanksgiving Preparations 1

The clock showed 5:00 and I was wide awake and ready to get started on all the things that need to be done this week. I already had a head start, since I went shopping last evening instead of waiting for today. A little over an hour of shopping and $230.00 later and I think I have everything I’ll need for this weekend!! Whew!

So the goal today is to get the guest rooms all ready for company. Dusting, vacuuming, washing sheets and towels, giving the bathroom a thorough cleaning – all in addition to the regular office and house work that needs to be done everyday! And I almost forgot that I had one other goal to accomplish this week.

I have the quilt that DH requested almost to the completed flimsy stage. I need to add one last border and then it will be ready to be loaded onto the Fun Quilter. Since DH is away for the week, this would be the perfect opportunity to get it quilted. Then I can surprise him with the finished quilt at Christmas. He knows that I am making a quilt, but, so far, I’ve been able to keep the design a secret. But having it on the Fun Quilter is problematic. I could, conceivably, get the quilting finished in one day. So, again conceivably, I could start it one morning while he is out to work and have it finished before he gets home. But what if he comes home early. It’s not like I can pull it off the frame and hide it quickly. So, this week, while he is gone the entire time, I need (yes, NEED) to get the quilting all done.

Thankfully, I’ve already had a three hour start to my day – the sheets and towels are all in the laundry room in various stages of washing and drying. And, after breakfast, shower and dress, I’ve started some of the office work. Maybe I’ll reward myself with the some sewing time soon.

But, right now, it’s time to get back at it.
