I’ve had a couple opportunities to spend some dedicated quilting time recently, which has been marvelous!! I have so many projects that need to be finished and having dedicated time helps get them done in a timely manner.
On a typical day I might get a little quilting fitted in between office work and house cleaning and meal prep and all the other “super fun” things that can fill a person’s life. But on a “Sew day” I ignore as much of that “super fun” stuff as I possibly can and play with fabric and thread all day.
With recent time spent quilting, I’ve managed to get a large amount of work done on two projects that I would like to have finished for Christmas – Mom’s floral quilt and the quilt that DH requested. Neither one is completely finished, but they are both very much closer to completion.
So I had to start something else.
I showed you the fox fabric that I couldn’t resist (that was back in May, I believe) Well, I’ve been waiting for the right pattern to turn up that would showcase those pretty foxes. And finally Bonnie Hunter came to the rescue. Her Winston Ways pattern is going to work perfectly.
I did a mock up of the block with the fabrics I chose, to see if it would look as good in actuality as it did in my head.
Yes, I think it does!
This is going to be a very masculine looking quilt and I think it’s going to be gorgeous!!
I’m going to use this as a leader/Ender project in between finishing the others and participating in the Mystery quilt with all the other Bonniacs. That starts in one more week – I can hardly stand the wait!!!
