Last Monday was what I thought would be the last linky party for En Provence. And I didn’t even have the flimsy completed. All over the Facebook Quiltville group there are ladies with completely finished quilts and I was still here hoping to get some borders finished. “Sigh”
But on Saturday, I pulled up my big girl panties, told DH he was on his own all day, and sat down to sew.
My plan was to get the borders finished for En Provence and get the Black and Gold quilt to the flimsy stage as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I had a wonderful Saturday, I just didn’t get as much done as I had hoped. But then again, I always have extremely high expectations about what I can accomplish.
My main goal was En Provence borders, so that is what I started with. And I finished!!!
The two borders were added which makes the red star points float out at the edges. I decided on the color scheme after I saw the Whittles.com site that was offering fabric bundles in Civil War reproduction fabrics. I didn’t go scrappy because I had some bigger yardage pieces in my stash, so I chose only one fabric per color. I’m happy with the way it turned out.
As for the Black and Gold quilt – I managed a little bit of sewing on it, but didn’t get the entire flimsy assembled. Maybe this week, if the Bosses don’t come up with a lot of extra work for me to do.
