It’s official – I’ve had a wonderful birthday celebration!!
Last weekend was a pretty quiet time for my actual birthday. The weather was lovely, but most of the family could not be here, so DH and I just took it easy most of the day. Then, in the evening, the Steelers decided to have a record breaking game. YAY!!!
Then, this weekend, the whole family was able to be here for a “Seafood Extravaganza” to celebrate my birthday.
The menu consisted of the following: King crab legs, Snow crab legs, Steamed shrimp, Broiled Scallops, Crab cakes, Oysters Rockefeller, Glazed Salmon, Chicken tenders, Potatoe skins, Salad, Coleslaw, Pasta salad, Chocolate cake, Pie, and Strawberries.
Oh my, my mouth is watering just thinking about all that good food!!! And then to have all the family together (which doesn’t happen too often, with everyone’s busy schedules!!) that was fantastic!
But the happiness didn’t stop there! The Steelers decided to put the icing on my cake and win again!!! Boy oh boy, what a wonderful way to end the day!
Yesterday was also what would have been my grandmother’s 100th birthday. I wasn’t able to attend the celebration that was held to remember her on that special day, but I was thinking about her and the extended family members that were there. They also had a crab feast, since grandmom was the one that taught us all how to pick crabs.
Such a special lady – I only hope that I can live to be like her.
