I wasn’t expecting much this morning, since the weather forecasters had been saying that we would be getting rain while the eclipse was happening. So I was pleasantly surprised when the moon was shining brightly as I got up.
The Youtube video I’ve used is from a lunar eclipse in 2007, but it closely resembles what I saw this morning – that is up to about the one minute mark on the video. Then, for me, the eclipse was over because clouds rolled in and I didn’t see the moon come back to life. 😥
But I do have some things to show. Our group is sponsoring a quilt show, as we have for a number of years. I’m going to be entering my Easy Street quilt:
I’ll also be entering my table runner:
This photo was taken on the table top that the runner was made for. It’s still in the garage waiting to be finished. But the table runner is ready for it!!! I tried to take a picture with it spread on the center of the table, but it just didn’t work. I know I’ve mentioned that I was working on a table runner, but I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for the show. This was for our challenge to make something with recycled materials. I had all of the doilies, but didn’t know what to do with them, since I’ve been trying to cut down on tchotchkes in Peace House. Now I can use the doilies, but they are contained in one place.
And, finally, here are the raffle quilts that will be on display at the show:
The first one “Welcome to My Cabin” is our raffle quilt, that will raise money for doing our charity quilts and to fund the show. The second quilt “Cathedral Stars” is the one we made to donate to the local chapter of Hospice, which they will be raffling off. If anyone makes it to our quilt show (Friday, Saturday, Sunday at St. Peter’s Parish Hall in Oakland) you can buy tickets – $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. I’m not sure how many tickets I’m going to buy for “Cathedral Stars” (I already bought tickets for “Welcome to My Cabin”) I REALLY like the way this quilt turned out, so I’d love to win it!!!! *Sigh* I probably ought to also go out and buy fabric to make another one, because I doubt I’d win!
Well, I’ve volunteered to help get things set up since I won’t be able to help during the actual show, so I better get moving.
