I’m hoping everyone is keeping warm. I am so ready for Spring to get here! But at least this cold weather is a good excuse to stay in and sew.
Today is Whoop, Whoop Friday over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Click HERE to see what’s going on.
I’ve got a few things to Whoop about!
I’m very close to having all the goals for January completed – and it’s not even the end of the month!!!
I wanted to get Easy Street to a queen size flimsy – Done
I wanted to make a dozen hexie flowers – Done
I wanted to get Celtic Solstice to a flimsy – Not quite done. I’m pretty sure that I’ve decided to add two more rows of blocks and then make a narrow border, so that this will fit a twin size bed. So I’ve got to get motivated to start all over again with the additional 14 blocks. 😦 Maybe I can get it done before the end of the month – maybe I need a fun sewing day with my QFFs to get the motivation!!
And, thanks to my sewing partner, who is actually quite a “whip-cracker”:
I was able to get this done:
Yippee! I’ve loaded the quilt onto the frame. Now I just need to do the quilting! DGC#3 kept egging me on throughout the time that she was here to get things done. She keeps track of my monthly goals and asks me about them whenever we are together. She really wanted me to get this quilt loaded, so she could see the Fun Quilter in action. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get it to that stage while she was here. But I might be seeing her over the weekend, so she may get to see some of the actual quilting being done. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for that.
BTW – the picture at the beginning of this post is at the cabin. The road there is pretty rough. I don’t think we’ll be spending any time up there unless we have a four wheel drive vehicle to get us in. And DH informed me that he has the water turned off at Peace House because he had started some work on the water lines. And until he finishes installing the shut off valves that are needed, the water is going to be staying off. Even though I am a “land baron” I’m reduced to only one property for entertaining guests at this time! So, Bev and Barb, if you are brave enough to go out into the cold and make the long trek, we’ll be sewing at my home place.
