Ah! ‘Tis the season! There are so many things on my list, that I’m not sure where to start! It hasn’t helped that the weather has put a crimp in my plans a couple of times!
I was going to go out with mom yesterday and take care of some final shopping, but the snow turned us both off of that. I’m hoping the weather will be more cooperative today since I have a chiropractor appointment that I really NEED to go to!!
I only wish it weren’t scheduled right smack dab in the middle of the day. I hate when my day is cut in half. Especially because the chiropractor’s office is no where near anything! So I can’t fit in any shopping before I go. And after the appointment I don’t really have time to go anywhere because I need to be home no later than four! I can stop at the grocery store, but that’s about it. And I need to go to the post office, so I can manage that, too. There’s just no major shopping places that are close by.
Oh well, it’s one of the problems of country living, but the benefits far outweigh the problems!!
I did find out that there was a Christmas program for some of the other DGC. Apparently, if you didn’t arrive early there was standing room only. Much as I love my grandchildren, I don’t think I could have stood throughout an entire performance!! I do love elementary school programs, though! The kids are so excited to perform – it’s just so cute to see!
I still need to take a photo of the finished project, but I did get the binding on this:
I also washed and dried it, and got the label done. So it’s good to go. DGC#3 will be getting this. Since she loves flamingos, I decided to name this one “Pink Flamingos” In an abstract way it looks like pink amongst the blue water and green marsh grass. At least that is the story I’m going to go with!!!
Bev, Barb and Amber – we should try really hard to have a play date while Amber is here to visit. Is there any chance of that? I am completely booked on this Sunday, but it might be possible to do a one day retreat on Saturday (12/21) If the weather is reasonable, I could drive up there. Of course, if her time is limited I wouldn’t want to take it away from her Mom and Dad! 🙂 If we can’t manage it this trip, we’ll just try again (and again, and again!!) Let me know.
Speaking of Sunday, I’m booked because that is the day that we do our Luminary service at church. Our church puts out thousands of paper bag luminaries to line both sides of a two mile stretch of road leading to our church. It’s absolutely gorgeous. A lot of people just drive by to see it, but there is an evening Christmas service that anyone is welcome to join. Again, depending on the weather, I may have some pictures to share next week. Keep your fingers crossed for that. This is from last year – and it really doesn’t do credit to the display.
