My Design Wall and Clue #3

be perfect
the problem

These quotes have nothing to do with quilting. I just really liked them and it’s something that we should all keep in mind.

It’s Monday linky time again and I am still falling behind with the mystery clues. I’ve got the first clue done. I’m still in the process of doing clue #2. And this is all that I have done on clue #3:

003

I’ve got all the 1/2 square triangles cut and ready to sew, but no sewing on those yet. Of course, it takes longer to get things done when I get help like this:

004

Norman thought he ought to check the camera so that I could get a good shot! We’ve all seen how he likes to join me when I’m trying to cut with the rotary cutter:

And, very often, he decides that the best place to rest his tired bones is between the sewing machine and the wall, when I am trying to sew!!!

003

Yes, this is a picture from quite awhile ago. He won’t move for anything when I’m trying to sew, but if I get up to get the camera – zoom! he’s off like a light!!! Trust me, he does this more times than I can count!

Anyway, between the “help” I get from Norman, the weather throwing a monkey wrench in my plans and dealing with the usual family crises, I haven’t done as much as I hoped. I was really looking forward to a full day of sewing with my QFFs. How disappointing to have a snow and ice storm pop up. I would think that Mother Nature would plan things better, considering how much sewing and quilting needs to get done around here!!! 😉

I’m linking with Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville, where we can share our progress on our Celtic Solstice quilts. Click HERE to go to her blog. Even though I am not as far along as I’d like to be, I am making some progress!!

I’m also linking with Judy at Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday. Even though my pieces aren’t actually up on the design wall, I am working on something. Click HERE

I hope everyone has a great day!

Peace

  1. I’m sorry we missed our quilting day together. Kevin kept trying to “cheer me up”. Goof ball. I did get to sew on my Bonnie Hunter, Blue Ridge Beauty pieces Sat. & Sun. When we were last at the Piece House, I counted blocks and I was short by about 40. Of course by the time I was done sewing the new pieces I cut, I have over 100 EXTRA! Some Day I’ll learn to count. It gave me enough for a donation top (63) plus a good start on a second one. That’s not counting the extra four patch blocks that are ready. No wonder we never run out of scraps.

  2. I’m with you and linking up with Judy L and Bonnie this Monday. No ice storms here. I am happy to have the snow melted for now. It can come back next Tuesday so we have just a bit of a White Christmas

  3. I was really disappointed about not coming to Piece House Saturday and Sunday! But I did spend that time sewing and thinking about you two. Here’s my Bonnie update: clue #1 – done; clue #2 – half done; clue #3 – not started. I was going to leave clue #2 this weekend and start clue #3 like Bonnie tells us to do, but I was making such good progress I didn’t want to stop! It’s just the way my mind works. I like to finish one step before starting another. It get me all befuddled when I have many steps in different levels of completion. I won’t have much Bonnie Mystery time this week with getting ready for Christmas but I’ll try to sneak some sewing in. Hope we can set up a play-date soon after Christmas!

  4. Bev and Barb, it sounds like we all were disappointed with the weather this weekend! I missed you both, a lot!! I could have used some cheerful company and hours of uninterrupted sewing time. We will definitely try again after the Christmas craziness settles down!
