DH and I were able to attend a Christmas program at the elementary school. It’s always fun to go to things like that. The children are so excited and the performances are so cute.
DGC#3 actually performed three different times. Once with her class. Once for chorus. And once for first year band. Here she is playing the drums:
I took quite a few pictures but the lighting wasn’t very good. Also, most of the program was done in front of blue curtains and with her blue shirt blending into the background, a lot of pictures looked like disembodied heads!! The stage curtains were opened for the band and there were black curtains as a backdrop. That helped immensely.
Normally, DGC#5 would also have been in the program, but he declined since he didn’t want to climb up on stage with his cast and crutches. So I wasn’t able to get any pictures of him.
I haven’t heard about any programs with the other set of grandchildren. I hope we can see their performances, too.
In quilting news, I’ve finished sewing all the clue #1 units for the Bonnie Hunter Celtic Solstice mystery quilt:
I still need to trim the dog ears off of these. I’ve been able to start on the clue #2 units, but I doubt that I’ll have them all done before tomorrow morning. That is when clue #3 comes out. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get caught up on the clues this weekend. If the weather cooperates, I’ll be hosting a mini-retreat at Piece House. A full day for marathon sewing should get me on track – although I do have a number of other projects that I would like to work on, too.
Today’s another busy day. I have to help DS#2 with some office work, the luncheon with my quilt group is today and I have to pick up some items while DH isn’t with me (it’s hard to get Christmas gifts for him when he’s standing right next to me!!)
