Thank goodness I had to search for my needle case! I needed a hand sewing needle to sew the binding on the blue and green quilt. I keep my needles in a little felt “booklet” and I couldn’t find it. So I had to search high and low for it.
Boy, was I aggravated! Where had that disappeared!?!
Turns out it was a very good thing that I couldn’t find my needles because I found something else!
I found the pieces for the blocks that are for my quilt groups Christmas quilt. Each year those who would like to participate, get fabric to make a block. Then at our Christmas luncheon (which is tomorrow) we put our names in for a drawing. The winner gets all the finished blocks to make into a quilt.
I had taken two kits(giving me two chances to win!) But I hadn’t gotten them done. And, worse yet, I had forgotten about them! Horrors!!
But then I couldn’t find my needles, so I started searching and ran across the poor, forgotten blocks.
I got them finished!!! One kit was for one log cabin block. The other kit made two star blocks. The winner of this year’s drawing gets all the blocks, extra fabric and a quilt book that includes the pattern for this quilt. The extra fabric is for appliques that are also part of this quilt.
I wouldn’t mind winning this time. 😉
P.S. – I found my needle case, too.
