Traveling Stash

On Saturday I received a box from Jen at Iron Violet Designs. This is the coolest thing!!! It’s called the Traveling Stash. This is a fun idea going around in blogland. There is this box:

And it is stuffed full of all kinds of wonderfulness:

There is a list of instructions included:

So this is how it works:

1. It’s only open to active bloggers in the USA
2. There’s a log sheet included in the box to keep track of where the box has been.
3. You can take anything from the box and then replace every item with comparable items.
4. Post about it on your blog and do a giveaway.
5. Ship the box to the winner of the giveaway within five days of announcing the winner.

Okay, so I haven’t done all the steps yet. I’ve been looking through the box and trying to figure out what I want to keep and then what I will replace it with. I’ll have those choices taken care of tomorrow. I’ll be taking comments tomorrow to choose who will get the box next. So anyone that’s a blogger will want to check back here, if you’re interested in joining the fun.

Here’s a link that updates where the box has been (actually, there are a few boxes; I received box #4). There is also a full list of rules.

Meanwhile in other news: for Design Wall Monday I do not have anything on my wall. But I do have a lot more done on the double nine patch. Here’s the stacks of blocks in progress:

I’ve got almost all the nine patch blocks finished!! Yay!! I hope to have them all sewn into double nine patches by the end of the week. Then, if all goes well, I’ll get it sashed and on the quilting frame and can be quilting it while DH goes to hunting camp next week!!! Send positive thoughts my way so that will happen!!!

Go on over to Judy at Patchwork Times to see what other wonderfulness is being worked on. Click HERE.

  1. Do you have to have your own blog or are you saying you have to be a follower. I am very new to this whole blog thing. Maybe I should start on about what all my UFO’s are LMAO.. Great idea really. I wish I had more quilty friends to do this with

  2. Looks like a fun box. Have fun picking something to keep and something to send.
You’re doing great on your plaid nine patch blocks. Can’t wait to see it as a finished quilt.
I spent yesterday cutting more blue stips for my Bonnie quilt. And cutting for two more quilts while I had the blue tote down from the attic storage. I cut more bricks and stepping stones pieces and some strips for the Scrappy strippy quilt. I’ll need lots of sewing time this winter!
