Design Wall Monday – January 14, 2013

I’m linking up with Judy Laquidara at Patchwork Times for design wall Monday. Check out what other people are working on HERE.

Today, on my design wall is the sample baby quilt that I needed to make for the workshop in February.

I still need to finish the sashing strips between the rows and then put on the binding. So far I have six hours invested in the construction. I didn’t include time for cutting, because the kits that are going to be made for these quilts will have that already done.

Also on the design wall (or floor, in this case) is Bev’s Easy Street block. The quilt inspector, Norman, was doing a thorough job of checking it out!! Bev and Barb came to visit on Saturday for a sewing day. Bev was working on a wall hanging size of Easy Street and Barb was making the setting triangles for a full size Easy Street. I worked on the baby quilt and Norman kept us all entertained. It was great getting together with the both of you!!! Hopefully, we can do it again sometime soon!

Today I have a number of errands to run for DH, the ever-present office work and house work and then I’m meeting with friends for supper this evening. So I have a busy day planned. I don’t think I’ll have a lot of time for sewing today. But I’ll try to sneak in a few minutes to try to finish that baby quilt.

  1. Had a great time with both of you Saturday! These once-a-month get togethers are so wonderful. I hope we can keep this up. The darker pink strip in the baby quilt really is predominant in the photo above but when we were looking at it in person Saturday, all the strips seemed to be equal. Funny how a photo brings that out? Let’s watch the weather in February and see when the next fair day is to get together! I’m already thinking about it.
