Mint Tins

Naturally, my mind couldn’t rest until I started another new project!!! Every time I turned around, all I could think about was what I could do with all the mint tins that I have.

So here is one idea:

I know, it doesn’t look like much right now!! My thoughts were a little doll with a few outfits to dress up in. So far, all I have is the doll body. She needs a face, hair and clothes. And I also want to cover the mint tin – probably with scrapbook papers. I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this little item.

I really like my miniature doll – she didn’t take too awfully long to put together. But she is still a long way from finished. And then I realized that I have four granddaughters that would need something like this in their stockings. Although the oldest granddaughter might not be into dolls too much. So that means I need to make three dolls and outfits for each doll and decorate three tins!

Maybe I need to come up with another idea.

Well, golly, I did!! Or, at least, I am adapting another idea that I already saw on the internet. I think I’m going to try making magnetic paper dolls instead. I just need to get to the store and buy some printable magnetic sheets. Then print out a paper doll set onto the magnet, cut them out and put into the tin. Still need to decorate the tins, but I think printing and cutting is going to be a lot quicker than cutting and sewing.
