Let me first say – I love my grandchildren! All six of them!

Now let me add – A-a-a-r-r-r-g-g-g!!!

I had all six visit me yesterday evening. The youngest one is staying with me for TWO DAYS! And, apparently, as a person ages their patience and tolerance is not nearly what it used to be!!!! I am speaking from my own experience here. Because my patience and tolerance is almost completely gone!!!

Like I said I love them dearly. And DGC#6 is an adorable little imp. But it is also the end of the month, so I have invoicing to take care of for our business. And a DH that, while darling, can also be frustratingly demanding of my time. And of course there are meals to prepare and a minimum cleanliness standard that I need to meet!

None of this is leaving much time for any fabric therapy. Which is very sad 😦

I think know that I need to have a quilt retreat soon. Hopefully, we can work something out that will be acceptable to all parties!

  1. Hang in there Cheryl. We’ll get our schedules together soon. I like your graphic! I’ve felt that way for years! I still wish we could get our meals like the Jettsons’ did … push a button and out pops the whole meal (as pills). It wouldn’t be as satisfying, but it would sure free up time we could be playing with fabric.

I need to decide what to work on when we get together. I should work on 1)my basket quilt that I wanted to enter in the Quilt show, needs done by August, 2) the Silver Challenge quilt that needs done by August – its not even a solid idea yet, or 3) the hexie medallion quilt, haven’t touched it since the last time we were together. But last night I was day dreaming (when I couldn’t sleep at 1:30am) about a quilt of all half square triangles in double pinks and chrome yellows, with an occasional cheddar triangle thrown in.

    1. Actually, I liked the system on Star Trek: The Next Generation. You just spoke into a microphone and told the machine whatever you wanted to eat. A door would open to reveal a whole meal on fine china, with silver and a cloth napkin! Then, of course, you just put the empty dishes back in the machine and they would disappear!! I think the calorie content was adjusted to just what a person needed and not one calorie more. I want one of those as soon as they get it on the market!!!

If we plan a get together that lasts long enough, you could bring all of the above!! I love the idea of the double pinks and chrome yellows!

I often dream (day or night) about quilts I want to make. That’s one reason why I have so many unfinished projects – I get an idea and I HAVE to try it before I forget about it.

  2. I liked your graphic, too, and I only have me to feed! Can’t wait to get together because I have so much to do and my fellow bff’s help me get it done!
